We only certify translations under the terms of Portuguese law.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][mk_divider style=”thin_solid” divider_width=”custom_width” custom_width=”25″ thin_single_color=”#f1c1b2″ thickness=”4″ margin_top=”30″ margin_bottom=”40″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1511019700631{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Since there is no sworn translator system in Portugal, certified translations are used. Certification consists of appending an official document issued by a notary or a lawyer that certifies the identity and responsibility of the translator and guarantees that the translation is true to the original.
\nCertification is necessary whenever private individuals need official translations to present to foreign entities (personal documents, diplomas, tax, legal or doctor documents, etc.) or when companies need to translate administrative documents intended for other countries and also when documents written in foreign languages require a certified translation into Portuguese.
\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1511019827331{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]We offer three types of certification:<\/strong>
\n1.<\/strong> Translation certified by a notary or lawyer, valid for presentation in Portugal.
\n2.<\/strong> Translation certified by a notary or lawyer plus a Hague Apostille, appended by the Prosecutor-General’s Office, and valid for presentation in all the countries that signed the Hague Convention (see list at https:\/\/www.hcch.net\/en<\/a>).

If accepted by the entity requesting the translation, a simple, uncertified photocopy can be used.<\/p>\n

:: Don’t forget that we need more time for certified translations (2 to 3 days more than a simple translation), since they are dependent on the availability and logistics of the certifying entities.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1511019883141{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]:: The cost of the service depends on the type of certification and includes the translation, official charges and travel costs. The characteristics of each project (no. of pages, urgency, destination country, etc.) may have an influence on the most advantageous certification for the client.
